Dickensian Delight

MUSIC AND READINGS will by heard in a Hampshire Church, as part of a celebration of the 200th anniversary of Charles Dickens.
Ben Birtle (‘Cello) and Barbara Henvest (Piano), both with experience in well-known symphony orchestras, will give a recital of music by contemporaries of Dickens, including Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Schumann and Chopin, at Upper Clatford Village Hall on Saturday 27 October at 7.30pm.
The music will be interspersed with a short account of his life and extracts from a selection of Dickens's many works, read by Ian Powell, who is a member of the local Burdock Valley Players.
The recital and celebration of Dickens’ work will be preceded by a traditional English supper, served by the All Saints’ Fundraisjng Committee.
All proceeds will be in aid of All Saints’ Church. Tickets (£15) can be reserved by contacting Jane Kennedy tel; 01264 323804.
